Cornerstone Community Church - Children's Program

Children's Program Policies
  • Please leave your child at the classroom door. In order to avoid confusion and to provide proper care and safety for the children, no one is allowed in the classrooms without permission.
  • In the event that your child does not settle down within fifteen
    minutes, you will be paged.
  • Once a child has their ID tag on, he/she should go immediately to their classroom and should not be in the community room.
  • Well children only please! Children with symptoms of illness should not be in class. Please do not drop your child off if he/she has had any of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours: diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash, open sores, or runny nose. If a child becomes ill while in our care, you will be paged.
  • Dismissal information:
    • Babies and Toddlers - give the ID tag to your child’s teacher to claim your child.
    • Pre-School – 1st grade - children stay with their adult Sheperd until they are picked up by their parents.
    • 2nd – 5th graders - at the end of the service, children are dismissed. Parents/guardians assume responsibility immediately after the service.
Policies for the Safety of Our Children
  • Parents are paged for all diaper changing.
  • If a child needs to use the bathroom, the administrator will make sure the bathroom is empty, then wait outside with the door ajar. Parents will be paged if the child needs assistance.
  • All childcare workers have attended Cornerstone Community Church for at least 6 months, attended safety training, and have met other requirements for serving in the children’s ministries area. If you are interested in serving in our children’s ministry or would like to find out more about our safety policies, please
watch the bulletin for upcoming training sessions.
Nursery and Toddler Specifics
  • Parents/guardians will be called for all diaper changing or bathroom needs.
  • At registration, you will be given two identical identification tags. One must be pinned to your child at all times. The other should be given to the teacher when picking up your child.
  • Please mark your child’s cup/bottle with a permanent marker. If your child has a pacifier, please attach with a clip.
  • Cheerios and water will be offered for a small snack.
  • Babies will graduate to the toddler room when they are 18 months old.
  • Toddlers who turn 3 will move to the pre-school room at the beginning of the next quarter (September, December, March, or June.)
Preschool Specifics
  • Please take your child to the bathroom before class and prepare them for staying the hour.
  • Please check the back of your child’s tag to make sure the bathroom instructions are what you desire. If your child is independent, they will be escorted according to our safety policies. If your child is not yet self-sufficient, parents will be paged. When your child becomes independent, please notify the administrator so you will no longer be paged during the service.
